About
Riska Munawarah, a documentary photographer from Indonesia, she uses photography and visual storytelling to explore identity issues and voice her statements about social and cultural conditions in her hometown, specifically about the challenge women face in obtaining their basic rights.
She has received recognition for her images and photo stories from the Prince Claus Seed Award and POY Asia Contest 2023. Her work has been exhibited at the Jakarta International Photo Festival 2022, Angkor Photo Festival 2023, Recontres De’Arles 2024, Tbilisi Photo Multimedia 2025. Her work has also been published in The Guardian, Reuters, NRC, The Washington Post, etc.
