Coffee has been referred to as the mother who has supported them in Gayo land. One of the best coffees in the world is Arabica Gayo. The majority of the coffee is produced in the regencies of Central Aceh and Bener Meriah, and it is sold to several nations, including the US, South Korea, Japan, and several others. Some Gayo coffee farmers are concerned about the rising temperatures brought on by climate change, which has at least resulted in a drop in the yield of their coffee plants.

The decrease in production not only has an influence on the livelihood of coffee producers but also on the rate of deforestation in the Gayo region. Natural disasters and environmental harm pose a threat to the area as a result. Farmers have also been compelled to plant in higher elevation regions due to the shrinking availability of suitable land for growing coffee. This will undoubtedly have an impact on the peculiar quality of Gayo Arabica coffee.
